Nancey & Charlotte's Jungle Fever
by Jillian S.

Chapter One

“No,” I cried as the pirates stood over me. “Come with…..” the pirates began, until I woke up. “Char?” I asked. “Is that you?” I added. Char is my twin sister, her real name is Charlotte, but her nickname is Char.

Char sat down at the foot of my bed when she said “Nance” (my nickname)

Guess what?”

“What now?” I groaned as I got my blue blouse and black pants on.

“We won a trip” Char said, “and we can bring Stacy and Angie!”

“What, how?” I asked as I came out of the bathroom.

“I’ll explain later, let’s go,” Char said as we went to the hall closet to get our suitcases. “We’re going to the Amazon Rainforest.”

Three hours later we’re at the airport.

Before I get ahead of myself I have to tell you about Stacy and Angie. Angie likes to sound tough and cute at the same time. She loves boys, too. Stacy also adores boys. She loves makeup, scary movies, and of course adventures.

I shook my Mom’s skirt and asked “Where’s the plane?”

“It’s okay, Nancy,” mom replied, as we watched our plane reach the gate.

“Oh, Char, there’s Stacy and Angie!” I cried as Stacy and Angie came up to us.

“Hi Nance,” Stacy said excitedly.

“Hi Char. Hey tell us how you won this trip for us?”

“Okay,” Char began. “So I was just getting some cereal and on the back of the box, in big letters, it said ‘A Big Jungle Adventure Awaits You. Scratch here to see if you have won a trip to the Great Amazon Rainforest.’ So I scratched here and there and it said I won and I could bring two friends to the Amazon Rainforest,” Char finished as they said our plane on the intercom.

“Let’s go,” the six of us cried.

Chapter Two

Ten minutes later we were on the plane and ready for take off.

“First class, everybody,” yelled Dad.

Once we sat down in our seats I noticed a tall, fat man.

“Hi mister,” I said.

“Get out my face, Nancy,” the man said through clenched, scary teeth.

“Hey, how do you know my name?” I asked, getting suspicious.

The man turned to me and said “You are the most annoying little brat that I’ve ever met.” He then stood up and went to the next class.

I turned around to tell my sister and Stacy but just then we landed.

“I can’t believe my eyes. We’re actually in the Amazon.” I said as we watched the plane fly off. Suddenly, from out of nowhere came a man furiously rushing out of the jungle. He was bald and was wearing swimming trunks.

“Sorry about that, mates,” he said slowly looking at us. “Hey,” he began as he stepped back. “Are you the Star family?” he asked as he looked into our eyes.

“Yes, as a matter of fact we are the Star family,” my dad said to the bald man.

“Okay then,” he said. Suddenly he let out a screech.

“Mom, dad?” I asked. “How does he know my name?”

“Hey, Nance?” Angie asked. “Look at the jungle.”

When we faced the jungle we noticed something. The palm trees shook violently as about twenty men in green came out of the creepy jungle.

Chapter Three

“Mom, Dad!” Char yelled. I turned around to see the bald man throwing a glass ball that said ‘2 hour sleeping gas.’ Once he threw the ball it began spraying all the gas out. At once, my mom and dad started coughing. We were so frozen we stopped breathing. A moment later my Mom and Dad toppled to the ground.

“We have company” I said. Ten men were rushing towards us madly.

“Now that’s what I call bad!” Stacy said as she rushed towards the ocean.

Stacy is not that quick so once she got to the ocean she got caught.

“Oh, no, Stacy!” Angie and Charlotte cried. At once they began racing towards her, but three green guards leapt in front of them. They started running towards me, but another pair of green guards leapt in front of them. They were trapped. I couldn’t reach them.

“Nancy!” Angie began. “Turn ar…” she said as she was getting to the point that she was flooded with all the guards. I started translating the screechy message and got it right away—‘turn around.’ So I started turning around slowly. Once I turned around I saw two men pulling Mom and Dad into the jungle.

“No, I can’t let them do this” I said. I started running furiously. Good thing I am the fastest kid in the school I thought as I ran to the jungle. “Come on legs, work with me,” I said as I zoomed deeper and deeper into the jungle.

All of a sudden I stopped. I heard something very creepy. “Wh-wh-who’s there?” I stammered.

Something green was zipping through the leaves. “Chomp, chomp,” said a strange figure. I turned around to look at the bushes. “Ah,” I began but went right to sleep. A green guard put sleeping gas in my face. He snapped his fingers. A big green alligator came up to me and grabbed my shirt. We went to the cliff and the alligator started dangling my feet over the cliff.

“Do it now,” The guard said as he watched the alligator let go of my shirt.

I fell, fell, down, down, down until I landed in a tree.

Chapter Four

Meanwhile, Stacy, Angie, and Char were led into a cave with the guards. Once they got in the cave, the guards put them on to these electrical chairs. The instant he set them on the chairs they snapped onto them so they couldn’t move.

“Here are your parents, Charlotte,” the guard said as he turned on a T.V. The screen showed her parents in the same electrical chairs, but they were getting lowered into water.

The man from the plane was at the cave entrance, “I’ll take over now, you can go look for Nancy.”

Once the guards left, Char asked, “Who are you? Where are we? What’s going on?”

“In order, little girl,” he began. “I am your mother’s ex-boyfriend. We’re in my hideout. I have kidnapped you so your Mom will dump your Dad and marry me.” A moment of silence surrounded the room. “Just look at the map” he said as he pulled a lever. A square map came down. It looked like this. “You girls will never get out of those chairs,” he cried. “Goodbye girls,” he said as he laughed away.

Once he shut the door, Char cried. “Angie?”

“What?”

“I’m out!”

“No, you’re not!”

“Angie!!”

“What?”

“Turn your head.”

Angie turned her head quickly. “I forgot that you were Miss Skinny” she cried.

Char was actually out. She walked over to the chairs and struggled to grab something in her hair. Once she got it Stacy gasped in amazement.

“Char, your pin. You wouldn’t.”

“Actually, Stacy” Char began as she walked over to Stacy and Angie, “I would. It’s for you, me and the rest of the family.”

Chapter Five

“Okay now, this is weird,” I said as I walked through the rainforest. I was deep in the jungle when suddenly I saw something on my hand that was creepy and red. I lifted my hand to see three deep red scratches. “Oh, my gosh,” I cried. There was a moment of silence. I could hear the trees rustling. “It’s okay, Nancy” I said to myself calmly. “It’s just a tiger scratch, I guess.” Once I finished, I felt a little better.

About five hours later I came upon a deep, dark cave. “This looks like a perfect hideout” I said. I waltzed right into the cave.

“Hello, Nancy. Nice of you to join us,” a mysterious voice said.

“Wh-wha-what?” I stammered, but the voice cut me off.

“Who am I?” the mysterious voice began. “I’m about to make your life miserable!” he boomed.

Chapter 6

I started panicking. I darted across the creepy cave. Suddenly a man with a yellow suit started coming towards me. I started running, but suddenly I collapsed. “What happened?” I cried as I tried getting back up again.

“Seize her!” he boomed.

Mechanical doors clicked open. Robots that were dressed like the man turned towards me. The robots had hats that either said Ben 2 or Ben 100.

“Uh oh,” I said as the robots came over to me. I darted across the room.

“You shall never stop me,” cried Ben2.

“I’ll get my family off this island,” I cried.

“Lousy brat.”

“What did you say creep?”

“Goodbye.”

“What?”

“Goodbye.”

He was right to say goodbye. The robots were two inches away from me. I was cornered. “No, get away!” I cried. The robots had caught me. “No, no, no!” I said. “Noooooooooo!” I cried. I shut my eyes as tight as I could.

All of a sudden the noise stopped. I peeked out of my eyes. I gasped. I was back home in my bed like nothing happened. The room was quite and calm. Nothing on my body looked damaged. I was in my pajamas.

“I wonder?” I lifted up my hand to see the three big scratches of the tiger with blood drawn in their deep edges. They were still there.
